(1) Time charters (TC) of 1 year duration or longer, normally allow ± 1.5 months' window for redelivery at charterers' option. Charterers have the option to adjust the charter duration by the number of off-hire days during the charter period. Dates represent the earliest date of redelivery of the vessel to Star Bulk.
(2) Represents the gross daily rate.
(3) Time charter agreement includes a 50%-50% index-based profit sharing arrangement under which Star Bulk will be paid by the charterers, in addition to the above charterhire, 50% of the difference by which the Baltic Capesize Index (BCI) rate exceeds $49,000 effective as of March 1, 2012.
(4) During the time period, Augustea will execute the next four cargoes out of a total of seven remaining cargoes for Star Ypsilon that has currently been serving under the Brazil's Companhia Vale do Rio Doce COA.
(5) On February 18, 2010 the Company has entered into a definitive agreement to purchase a Capesize vessel of approximately 171,000 dwt, built in 2000 in Japan, for approximately $42.5 million from a third party with expected delivery in the fourth quarter 2010. On March 18, 2010 the Company has also entered into a time charter agreement with Rio Tinto for a period of about 3 years at a gross daily rate of $27,500.
(6) On March 24, 2010 the Company signed a contract with shipbuilder Hanjin to build a capesize vessel with expected delivery in September 2011. The Company has also entered into a 10 year time charter agreement for the vessel with STX Panocean at a gross daily hire of $24,750.
(7) On April 6, 2010 the Company signed a contract with ship-builder Hanjin to build a Capesize vessel with expected delivery in November 2011.
