Position: Crew Operator
Department: Crew

Reports to: Crew Manager
Responsibilities:
  1. Selects qualified crew according to all standard operating procedures and guidelines of STCW & flag state- vessel requirements and plans their assignment on specific vessels.
  2. Maintains personal medical and training records as well as certification data for all vessels’ personnel.
  3. Arranges all visa / immigration formalities needed in order to ensure their safe embarkation or disembarkation via communication with agents and/or manning agencies.
  4. Administers all necessary traveling (i.e., ticketing, visa, immigration etc.) of crew and/or superintendents.
  5. Plans crew changes at convenient ports.
  6. Enters all crew-related information into company’s database.
  7. Arranges Skype interviews and briefings.
  8. Deals with accounting crew matters concerning monthly home allotments / SOA / FWA / cash advances / MPOs.
  9. Checks invoices / DA / SOA regarding crew expenses.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Bachelor degree in any discipline, preferably in shipping.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in the crew department of a shipping company with bulkers.
  3. Fluency in English.
  4. Computer literate.
  5. Excellent communication skills.

  • Research Analyst
Position: Research Analyst
Department: S&P & Research

Reports to: Deputy Chief Investment Officer
Responsibilities:
  1. Reviews the market headlines and examines relevant reports to identify important cases and scenarios, in order to discuss and evaluate them with the Head of Research.
  2. Collects, processes, evaluates and occasionally translates data from various sources, so as to analyze the shipping markets’ performance, create indicators and graphs and conclude about the future short and long-term trends of the shipping sectors.
  3. Contributes to the update of existing market presentations and the drafting of market scripts to assist on the publication quarterly results.
  4. Creates new reports and presentations related to the market used by the head of research and / or the management for internal or external purposes.
  5. Cooperates with other departments to assist on the update of the quarterly results market section, to get data on the fleet supply and to provide market reports.
  6. Completes any other relevant task requested by the Head of Research.
Qualifications / Experience:

 

  1. Bachelor degree in Economics, Engineering or any relevant field.
  2. Postgraduate degree in Economics / International Trade.
  3. Minimum 2 years of experience on transport, energy or applied economics. Experience in the finance or research department of a shipping company will be considered an asset.
  4. Fluency in English.
  5. Computer literate and with excellent command of Microsoft Excel.

  • Electrical Superintendent
Position: Electrical Superintendent

Responsibilities:
  1. Provides support, advice and assistance on all electrical related matters pertaining to the operation of the Company’s vessels and in line with the Company’s policies, maritime industry’s rules, regulations and standards.
  2. Assists and guides crew on the effective implementation of vessels’ PMS.
  3. Attends vessels at ports of call and periodically sails with them to ensure proper implementation of PMS and assist crew on scheduled and unscheduled electrical works.
  4. Issues attendance reports, including comments for the vessels’ condition and equipment, as well as for the crew performance.
  5. Prepares repairs / conversions, dry-docking, special surveys, damage and voyage repairs, and specifications and supervising the execution of all electrical related works.
  6. Cooperates with the Technical superintendents to achieve optimum vessels’ performance.
  7. Organizes repairs at workshops in cooperation with the Technical superintendents.
  8. Assists the PMS team with proper record keeping of all the electrical related instruments and equipment onboard.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Minimum 5 years of similar experience at the Technical department of a shipping company.
  3. Fluency in English.

  • Marine Superintendent
Position: Marine Superintendent
Department: Marine Safety & Quality (MSQ)

Reports to: MSQ Manager
Responsibilities:
  1. Communicates with Masters regarding any reports concerning PSC items, deck maintenance (PMS) and cargo hold preparedness.
  2. Visits the vessels for marine / safety internal audits, evaluates their condition, assesses potential risks and prepares them for third party inspections as per the Company’s standards, SMS requirements and all international and flag state legislation.
  3. Approves deck stores and maintenance tools as well as the activation/supply of charts and publications.
  4. Analyzes, investigates and assess the risks of hazardous occurrences on the vessel or any deficiencies, issued by PSC and third party inspections, and provides vessels with necessary feedback and instructions to avoid reoccurrence.
  5. Pursues the developments related to international rules and regulations that are associated with the SMS and evaluates their potential impact.
  6. Coordinates and liaises with other departments within the company to collectively provide an efficient ship management service.
  7. Handles pre-port state control inspections, standard deck and safety items checks, master and officers’ evaluation and random bunker checks. 
  8. Provides specific training to the crew during the sea passage attendances. 
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Captain Class A diploma and minimum two years of sea-going experience as a Master.
  2. Experience as a Marine Superintendent in a shipping company with bulkers will be an asset.
  3. Experience in handling dry vetting and third party inspections (PSC, USCG, P&I, Charterers etc.).
  4. Ability to learn and monitor changes in legislation and international requirements.
  5. Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  6. Fluency in English.
  7. Computer literate.

  5. Provides training and technical advice to the shipboard personnel.
  6. Occasionally attends a vessel if deemed necessary.
  7. Provides any other related assistance to the Technical executives if/when requested.

  • Technical Coordinator

Responsibilities:
  1. Assists and provides support to the technical superintendents in organizing, coordinating, monitoring and following-up various outstanding items, defect reports, repairs and in organizing attendances for onboard services (external providers, service stations etc.).
  2. Assists in organizing new projects and dry-dockings under the guidance of the technical superintendents.
  3. Monitors and reviews vessel consumptions and various analysis reports and distributes respective files accordingly.
  4. Records and monitors the vessels’ technical superintendent attendance intervals, the produced reports and the identified deficiencies and ensures proper filing and record keeping.
  5. Monitors the status of certificates and coordinates their renewals. Ensures the certificates’ due dates monitoring system is always kept updated, communicates with the vessel’s class society and schedules, organizes and coordinates class attendances.
  6. Provides technical support and any additional technical documentation and assistance to shipboard personnel for the proper operation and maintenance of the vessels’ machinery and equipment. Ensures proper record keeping practices are followed-up on board. Ensures that all vessel’s reports, forms, records etc. are received timely, reviewed as required and filed accordingly.
  7. Ensures company’s policies and procedures are followed within the department. Prepares various reports, collects vessel performance data as required for the technical department’s reporting of KPIs.
  8. Inputs the various technical information, service reports in the company’s system as well as information related to purchasing, invoicing, certification and various technical matters.
  9. Occasionally attends a vessel as deemed necessary.
  10. Provides any other related assistance as required by the Fleet/Technical Manager or the Technical Director.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. University degree in Engineering / Naval Architecture and minimum 2 years of experience in the Technical department of a shipping company.
  2. Fluency in English.
  3. Computer literate.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Ability to handle many tasks simultaneously within strict deadlines.
