- Project Engineer
1. Assists and provides support to the Technical Superintendents in organizing, coordinating, monitoring and following-up outstanding items related to the projects.
2. Assists in organizing new projects and also maintains project plans and project schedules.
3. Provides technical support and any additional technical documentation and assistance to shipboard personnel for the proper operation and maintenance of the vessels’ machinery and equipment.
4. Communicates with service providers and / or workshops if necessary, prepares comparison lists and submits for approvals, checks the invoices and closes the cases.
5. Travels abroad and visits the vessels to monitor the project’s progress, budget, scope and scheduling.

- Answers and screens all incoming phone calls, transferring them to the appropriate departments and employees.
- Handles all external visitors and coordinates the meeting rooms’ planning.

- Monitors classification status of each assigned vessel and ensures full compliance with new regulations and laws.
- Visits and evaluates vessels, in order to report their condition and ensure that they are always adequately prepared for any inspection.
- Prepares designated vessels for dry dock and repair specification, drafts and submits the specification to qualified bidders and analyzes and negotiates bids.
- Provides technical support to the personnel onboard, arranges on board third party services, class attendance, equipment maker or specialist contractors, landing and repair of equipment at shore.
- Monitors all technical aspects / performance of vessels’ operation including maintenance, repair, safety and environmental protection.

- Checks overdue works for all vessels so as to avoid system failures due to the lack of maintenance. Also, creates vessels structure in the ERP (i.e., workflow tree, corresponding manufacturers, models, serial number, works & forms) in order to apply Company’s official PMS.
- Prepares Vessels’ PMS for external or internal audits by checking the reported works and the respective forms in order to avoid any deficiencies and maintain vessels’ high performance.
- Creates and maintains various reports on a regular or ad hoc basis regarding critical components for statistical and reporting purposes such as OPEX, budget analysis etc. and for the monitoring of PMS performance and the archiving of technical information.

- Supports the Athens based CCL Capesize traders subsequent to every fixture that concerns the SBLK vessels.
- Manages and attends the processes following a fixture (i.e. submission of certificates, nomination questionnaires, etc.), until the completion of vessel’s vetting procedure and final acceptance.
- Coordinates with the Capesize traders, the Bunkering desk and the Operations department to set the bunker / voyage planning.
- Follows up the freight differential calculations in cooperation with the traders.

1. Performs shipyard cost analysis by comparing various recent or extra DD quotations.

4. Contributes in the preparation of ship specifications taking into account all available information from ship and attendance reports.

- Controls hire and freight collection and assures that everything is received on time and in accordance with charter party terms and conditions.
- Handles claims (technical, off hire, underperformance etc).
- Monitors fleets’ communication and monitors vessels’ voyage, daily operations, orders and employment in order to follow up fixtures and potential claims.
- Prepares payments for the undisputed balances, issues and controls invoices against charterers’ hire statements, monitors the funds received from charterers and their balances and maintains a list of expected hires and/or freights.
- Follows electronic filling of all cases and enters financial information for each fixture in VESON.
- Cooperates closely with all the relevant departments (Operations, Bunkers, Insurance, Accounting, Crew, Supply, Chartering).
- Follows up daily on any pending invoices freights/hires/receivables and balances.

- Follows up the position lists for itineraries, vessels ETA / ETS prospects and agents’ nomination, in order to plan and organize the dispatch of goods on board.
- Communicates with agents requesting dispatching instructions and prepares the daily courier dispatches, ensuring that they meet any special local customs’ requirements or regulations.
- Prepares the daily dispatches, so as to supply the vessels with important documents, spares, publications.
- Contacts the forwarders to obtain quotes, submits them to the Technical department and organizes any dispatch after obtaining the relevant approval.
- Furnishes agents with dispatching documents, in order to facilitate their actions in case customs clearance procedures need to take place.
- Monitors the development of the assigned cases until the consignment is delivered on board.
- Checks invoices and submits them in Navision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Logistics, Shipping or relevant field.
- Post-graduate degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset
