Responsibilities:
  1. Selects qualified crew according to all standard operating procedures and guidelines of STCW & flag state- vessel requirements and plans their assignment on specific vessels.
  2. Maintains personal medical and training records as well as certification data for all vessels’ personnel.
  3. Arranges all visa / immigration formalities needed in order to ensure their safe embarkation or disembarkation via communication with agents and/or manning agencies.
  4. Administers all necessary traveling (i.e., ticketing, visa, immigration etc.) of crew and/or superintendents.
  5. Plans crew changes at convenient ports.
  6. Enters all crew-related information into company’s database.
  7. Arranges Skype interviews and briefings.

  • Dry-Dock Coordinator
Position: Dry-Dock Coordinator

Responsibilities:

1. Performs shipyard cost analysis by comparing various recent or extra DD quotations.
2. Creates and maintains a database with offers in order to be used for shipyard negotiations.
3. Assists the Senior D/D Coordinator in maintaining and monitoring the status of each N/B project through daily communication with site offices and the yards.
4. Contributes in the preparation of ship specifications taking into account all available information from ship and attendance reports.
5. Supports the Senior D/D Coordinator in coordinating the D/D scheduling in conjunction with the Operations and Technical Departments.
6. Compares various costs of supplies and services that appear during DD and keeps a record of the quotes received.
7. Assists in the plan approval process for new vessels and reviews ship’s plans as offered by consultants.

Qualifications / Experience:

1. A University degree in Engineering and/or Naval Architecture
2. A Master’s degree in Engineering, Shipping, Maritime Economics or Naval Architecture will be considered an asset.
3. Minimum 2 years of experience in the technical department and/or technical projects of a shipping company.

Position: ISO Coordinator
Department: Marine Safety & Quality (MSQ)

Responsibilities:

1. Supports all quality, health and environmental matters.
2. Provides vessels with ISO certificates necessary for trading, as instructed by his/her supervisor.
3. Implements the ISO standards as per manuals 9k, 14k, 45k and 50k and promotes the environmental awareness of the vessels and the office personnel.
4. Monitors that the Company’s Safety and Environmental protection systems, policies and working instructions are properly and effectively implemented.
5. Keeps record of vessels’ garbage record books and other relevant forms.
6. Updates the company’s electronic system with procedures, forms and other MSQ data.
7. Inserts department’s invoices in the system and follows up on their payment.

  3. Provides vessels with class and flag certificates necessary for trading, as instructed by his/her supervisor.
  4. Implements the Environmental Management System (EMS) and promotes the environmental awareness of the vessels and the office personnel.
  5. Monitors that the Company’s Safety and Environmental protection systems, policies and working instructions are properly and effectively implemented.
  6. Monitors and supplies the service of alcohol meters.
  7. Arranges and follows up on fresh water and crew drug and alcohol tests.

Position: MSQ Superintendent

Responsibilities:
  1. Communicates with Masters regarding any reports concerning PSC items, deck maintenance (PMS) and cargo hold preparedness.
  2. Visits the vessels for marine / safety internal audits, evaluates their condition, assesses potential risks and prepares them for third party inspections as per the Company’s standards, SMS requirements and all international and flag state legislation.
  3. Approves deck stores and maintenance tools as well as the activation/supply of charts and publications.
  4. Analyzes, investigates and assess the risks of hazardous occurrences on the vessel or any deficiencies, issued by PSC and third party inspections, and provides vessels with necessary feedback and instructions to avoid reoccurrence.
  5. Pursues the developments related to international rules and regulations that are associated with the SMS and evaluates their potential impact.
  6. Coordinates and liaises with other departments within the company to collectively provide an efficient ship management service.
  7. Handles pre-port state control inspections, standard deck and safety items checks, master and officers’ evaluation and random bunker checks. 
  8. Provides specific training to the crew during the sea passage attendances. 
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Captain Class A diploma and minimum 2 years of sea-going experience as a Master.
  2. Experience as a Marine Superintendent in a shipping company with bulkers will be an asset.
  3. Experience in handling dry vetting and third party inspections (PSC, USCG, P&I, Charterers etc.).

Responsibilities:
  1. Monitors the performance of each vessel in the designated Fleet based on flag, statutory and Company’s requirements and guidelines. Also monitors the daily performance at Sea with regards to speed, consumption and weather conditions.
  2. Appoints cargo or bunker surveyors and port agents and arranges various services that the ship requires. Updates position list and books, checks with agent the ship’s prospects and approves D/As.
  3. Approves hire statements or freight invoices including lay-time calculations and assists chartering (cargo quantity / stowage calculations) in describing vessel’s particular characteristics and authorizes Charter Party clauses.
  4. Checks pre-stowage plans, loading sequences, passage plans, cargo docs, LOIs, bunker requirements and authorizes bunker invoices.
  5. Issues voyage instructions, ship’s cargo holds preparation instructions and Monitors ship’s cargo holds condition and preparation.
  6. Monitors the actual day-to-day performance and financial expenditure of vessels in the fleet.
  7. Communicates to Masters Voyage instructions, port requirements, local regulations, cargo requirements and precautions, ship’s charter party description and applicable clauses.
  8. Liaises with the Insurance Department in handling of claims, hazardous situations, accidents and P & I involvement and informs it in case of vessel breaking International Navigation Limits and war zones.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. Captain Class A License. Degree / Diploma in Maritime studies will be an asset.
  2. Minimum 2 years of sea-going experience as Captain onboard bulk carriers and 2 years of office experience as Operator.

  • Singapore-based Technical Superintendent
Position: Singapore-based Technical Superintendent

Responsibilities:
  1. Interfaces between the ship and the office on technical matters and requires to be thoroughly familiar with the maintenance, condition and operation of each vessel calling Singapore, ensuring that the vessels performs according to company’s safety management system (SMS).
  2. Coordinates with the technical team in the Athens & Cyprus’ office and follows up with any pending repairs and maintenance of vessels calling Singapore, arranging third party services.
  3. Assist in assigning local repair shops, and attend workshops to inspect parts/equipment under repairs.
  4. Attends vessels calling Singapore and reports on the condition to ensure that they are always adequately prepared for any inspection.
  5. Check the local market for competent and qualified workshops/yards and service providers.
  6. Works closely with the relevant Technical Superintendent in Athens/Cyprus to monitor any technical issues of the vessels’ operation, as well as their performance and follows up accordingly.
  7. Proposes and initiates corrective actions when such performance is not compliant with the Company’s standards.
  8. Coordinates with other departments on the collection of necessary documentation and in order to safeguard the company’s best interest and achieve optimum vessels’ performance.
Qualifications / Experience:
  1. BEng in Marine/Mechanical Engineering / Naval Architecture and/or Class A Engineer Certificate.
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience at a similar position in a shipping company with bulk carriers.
  3. Previous sea-going experience on bulk carriers will be considered an asset.
  4. A post-graduate degree in a relevant field will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assists and provides support to the technical superintendents in organizing, coordinating, monitoring and following-up various outstanding items, defect reports, repairs and in organizing attendances for onboard services (external providers, service stations etc.).
  2. Assists in organizing new projects and dry-dockings under the guidance of the technical superintendents.
  3. Monitors and reviews vessel consumptions and various analysis reports and distributes respective files accordingly.
  4. Records and monitors the vessels’ technical superintendent attendance intervals, the produced reports and the identified deficiencies and ensures proper filing and record keeping.
  5. Monitors the status of certificates and coordinates their renewals. Ensures the certificates’ due dates monitoring system is always kept updated, communicates with the vessel’s class society and schedules, organizes and coordinates class attendances.
  6. Provides technical support and any additional technical documentation and assistance to shipboard personnel for the proper operation and maintenance of the vessels’ machinery and equipment. Ensures proper record keeping practices are followed-up on board. Ensures that all vessel’s reports, forms, records etc. are received timely, reviewed as required and filed accordingly.
  7. Ensures company’s policies and procedures are followed within the department. Prepares various reports, collects vessel performance data as required for the technical department’s reporting of KPIs.
  8. Inputs the various technical information, service reports in the company’s system as well as information related to purchasing, invoicing, certification and various technical matters.
  9. Occasionally attends a vessel as deemed necessary.
  10. Provides any other related assistance as required by the Fleet/Technical Manager or the Technical Director.

  1. Organizes and implements courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.
  2. Instructs, coordinates and monitors works / repairs.
  3. Follows up on the maintenance status, condition and operation of assigned vessels and co-operates with the crew, in order to ensure that assigned vessels are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  4. Attends vessels and periodically sails on-board to ensure the technical condition of the equipment.
  5. Monitors and verifies vessel’s performance, supervises repairs, reports findings, follows-up closure of defects etc.
  6. Provides training and technical advice to shipboard personnel, as necessary.
  7. Implements effectively preventive maintenance of ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, etc.
  8. Monitors Class and Flag State requirements and plans required surveys accordingly.
  9. Deals with any damage repairs or modifications, preserving the vessels commercial competence.
  10. Monitors all technical problems, major defects and follows-up, until corrective action is verified.
  11. Controls and monitors the lub-oil and bunker quality and consumption.
  12. Prepares repairs / conversions, dry-docking, special surveys, damage and voyage repairs, and specifications and supervises the execution of all such works.
  13. Attends delivery of new acquisitions.

Responsibilities:

1. Attends vetting inspections, as required (Rightship, charterers’, P&I).
2. Monitors pre-vetting preparations and prepares the vessel for vetting inspections, as per the Company’s standards, SMS requirements and all international and flag state legislation (also based on Dry-BMS standards).
3. Carry out investigation analysis, following the completion of on board inspections.
4. Assist the vessels during the inspections, as necessary.

Qualifications / Experience:

1. Captain Class A diploma or Chief Engineer’s license or BSc in Naval Architecture / Mechanical Engineering.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience at a similar position of a shipping company.
3. Experience in handling vetting and third party inspections.
4. Excellent communication skills.
5. Fluency in English.
