Position: Supplies Operator

Responsibilities:
  • Organizes and coordinates the purchasing of supplies required by the Technical and Marine, Safety & Quality Department, in an efficient and effective manner and based on the required specifications.
  • Obtains quotations from the “approved” suppliers, prepares comparison tables and submits to the Supplies Manager and the Procurement Director.
  • Maintains and expands the “Approved Vendors” list.
  • Negotiates prices, if required, and prepares the relevant evaluation forms.
  • Places orders in accordance with the approvals obtained and ensures that each purchase order is recorded to the electronic purchasing system and that the supply cycle operates effectively.
  • Cooperates with the Forwarding department for the delivery of the supplies onboard the vessel and instructs suppliers, Master and Agents accordingly.
  • Verifies completion of delivery and collects all supporting documentation.
  • Checks the relevant invoices and attaches the vessels’ confirmation of receipt for relevant supplies in order to proceed with the payment process.
  • Follows up until the vessel confirms that the supplies have been delivered onboard.
  • Creates and maintains systems, subsystems, items and the database for supplies in Navision application electronic system.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in any discipline, preferably in Shipping.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Fluency in English.
  • MS Office literacy.

Position: Internal Auditor

Responsibilities:
  • Support SOX Compliance program to ensure that Company’s internal controls over financial reporting are effectively implemented. Main tasks of the program involve the evaluation of the existing controls’ effectiveness through testing procedures, identification and evaluation of audit findings and remediation follow-up.  Assist in the preparation of SOX scoping, risk assessment and fraud risk assessment using quantitative and qualitative factors.
  • Participate in meetings with Company’s key personnel to gain understanding of Company’s processes and existing controls.
  • Assist in the preparation and provision of documentation related to process walkthroughs.
  • Assisting in execution of planned and ad-hoc internal audits projects through all phases of the audit (documentation review, fieldwork, recommendations and remediation follow-up).
  • Identify, document and communicate audit findings to the members of Internal Audit Department. Participate and assist in the preparation of presentations to the Company’s Audit Committee and Management.
  • Communicate with Company’s external auditors around SOX Compliance program, as well as any other Company’s independent auditor and/ or consultant.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field.
  • Up to 4 years of experience in Big Four or in an internal audit / accounting/ finance department of a public shipping company.
  • Professional qualifications (e.g. CIA) and/ or postgraduate degree in accounting/ finance/ business administration related fields will be considered an asset.  
  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and experience in internal audit, SOX will be considered an asset. 
  • Knowledge in Accounting ERP systems (i.e. Navision) will be considered an asset.

Position: Post Fixtures Officer

Responsibilities:
  • Handles the assigned fleet’s C/P claims (off-hire / demurrage / other disputes) presented by / or to Charterers, collaborating with the Post Fixtures Officers team, as required.
  • Controls hire and freight collection.
  • Handles / follows up on undisputed balances, invoices against charterers’ hire statements and funds received from charterers and their balances.
  • Monitors vessels’ voyage and daily operations to follow up on fixtures and potential claims.
  • Prepares weekly and other relevant reports, as requested by the Post Fixtures Manager or the top management team.
  • Checks and submits for approval the brokerage commission invoices and forwards same to the Accounting department for settlement.

Responsibilities:

1. Investigates and researches new technologies, conducting their evaluation through feasibility studies (techno-economic reports).
2. Communicates with external companies / providers developing new systems / applications.
3. Monitors and closely follows-up on new trends, in relation to alternative fuels, energy sources,
emissions deduction etc.
4. Cooperates with other departments to identify means and actions required to improve performance
and reduce vessels’ emissions.

  • Organizes and implements courses of action for matters of technical nature arising onboard vessels.
  • Instructs, coordinates and monitors works / repairs.
  • Follows up on the maintenance status, condition and operation of assigned vessels and co-operates with the crew, in order to ensure that assigned vessels are operating in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Attends vessels and periodically sails on-board to ensure the technical condition of the equipment.
  • Monitors and verifies vessel’s performance, supervises repairs, reports findings, follows-up closure of defects etc.
  • Provides training and technical advice to shipboard personnel, as necessary.
  • Implements effectively preventive maintenance of ship’s hull, main machinery, deck machinery, etc.
  • Monitors Class and Flag State requirements and plans required surveys accordingly.

  • Prepares the vessels as required in order to comply with international auditing requirements.
  • Supports the vessels through External ISM/ISPS Audits and MLC inspections.
  • Drafts the Internal Audit plan/charter and prepares Audit reports.
  • Keeps records of imposed Non Conformities/Observations from Internal & External Audits and follows up corrective actions in order to enhance the implementation of respective requirements.
  • Monitors certificates, Internal & External Audit reports through Navision in order to ensure for the validity onboard the vessels and the will be carried out within the required interval.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Maritime Studies or in a relevant field will be considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at a similar position in a shipping company.
  • Knowledge of applicable ISM / ISPS / MLC standards.
  • Certified Auditor from recognized training center.
